If you are on prescribed anti biotics and you miss taking one...should you take it when you remember it or?

at its next prescribed time? even if its hours later(being late and taking it at that time). If you are on prescribed anti biotics and you miss taking one...should you take it when you remember it or?
If it's no more than an hour or 2 late, go ahead and take it. Any longer than that, just wait and take the next dose as prescribed. Never double up.
The best thing is to contact your pharmacy and ask them. Basically it depends on what antibiotic you are taking, and how often you are on them.
For example...if you are on them twice a day..breakfast and dinner and you remember at bedtime..yes take it.
If you are on them every four hours and you remember one hour before your next dose, skip the one you missed. Unless directed you shouldn't double up on doses. But if it is more than six hours to your next dose, yes take it.
Take it as soon as you remember it!
It should say on the bottle what to do in that case, usually if its to close to the next schduled dose just skip it, but the bottle should say, if not call the pharmacy of the doctor you got it from!
antibiotics depending on their half life either are taken 24 hours apart or 12 hours apart or 6 hours apart.
If you forget to take a dose and it is an hour or two beofre next dose is due just wait for that dose. If its several hours take the tablet and then wait the alotted time for the next dose (eg if taken twice a day take 12 hours apart eg 8am & 8pm).
It depends on dosing instructions.
It depends on what you're being treated for.
Generally, anti-biotics are of the take one before a meal variety. If you forget, you will have to wait a few hours before you can take the missed dose. Why? Many anti-biotics loose effectiveness if taken on a full stomach.
